Class Types

We offer a variety of class types to suit your level of experience and practice style. We do focus on consistency, so whether you attend a Traditional Hot class at 17th or Crowfoot, you’ll know what to expect.

All classes are performed in a room that is heated to 42 °C (108 °F) and 50% humidity.

 

Traditional Hot Yoga

Traditional Hot Yoga (TH) is a series of twenty-six postures performed in a precise order, in a room heated to 42 °C (108 °F). The postures combined with heat help cleanse the body and warm the muscles. This class systematically works the entire body, concentrating on the essence of every organ, bone, joint, muscle, ligament, tendon, blood vessel, nerve and gland. Incorporating strength, balance, and flexibility, Traditional Hot Yoga teaches students how each pose stimulates the mind and restores and shapes the body. This class is available in a 65, 75 or 90 minute format.

 

Baptiste Vinyasa

Baptiste Vinyasa Flow Yoga (BV) links a powerful breath with dynamic, flowing movements. Often referred to as meditation in motion, Baptiste Vinyasa Yoga has now grown to encompass many different styles and teachings across the world and is the number one yoga practiced in the United States. It is a flow that has many different levels, allowing beginners, intermediate and advanced students to be challenged in the same class. This flow will torch calories, tone your body, and relax your mind. This heated class is available in a 65, 75 or 90 minute format.

 

Union

Union is a unique series of postures that combines Traditional Hot with Baptiste Vinyasa.  The series combines precision of therapeutic yoga and the foundations of traditional yoga in a specially heated room. The Union series is a cardiovascular workout that loosens, strengthens and tones the muscles, while calming the mind and reducing stress. The heat allows for deep, safe stretching and promotes detoxification of the skin, blood and muscles through sweat. Classes are suitable for all levels.

 

Power Vinyasa Flow (VF)

Power VF has an emphasis on the foundation postures, deepening awareness of the breath, core strengthening techniques & sensations of the body. It is an ultimate experience for people who are ready to tap both their physical and spiritual power. This heated class will invigorate your body and mind through a modified series of challenging postures. Expect core strengthening and a challenging flow.

 

Yin/Yang

With the relaxing Yin practice, long holds ensure safe opening of connective tissue while stimulating, releasing and calming the body and mind. Postures are kept simple and emphasis is on targeting all of the meridians (energy lines) of the body. The Yang portion that follows works to enhance muscular effort by working already-warmed and open muscles to their full potential.

 

  • Yin tissues = ligaments, bones, joints
  • Yang tissues = muscles, blood, skin
  • Yang is rhythmic and repetitive, and is intended to stress the muscles.

Spin

Get invigorated! Led by skilled instructors, our spin classes combine our yogi mentality with a heart-healthy, total body workout. In these 45-minute candle-lit classes, you’ll work together to burn calories, build leaner muscle, and sweat. Not your typical stationary bike class, we energize body and mind with cycling, free weights, core work and teamwork. We provide top-of-the-line bikes, an oxygenated studio, and a killer sound system; you bring the positive attitude. Together, we’ll give it our all.
