How does yoga contribute to your day-to-day life?
I feel that yoga is a very big part of my life. I practice and or teach asana everyday and have the privilege and opportunity to practice with and experience the students as they experience the changes in their bodies and in their lives. I am blessed to have a wonderful husband and daughter who support this path and blessed to work with Elmira, Paul and our great team of instructors and staff.
What is something yoga has taught you since you began practicing?
I have realized through my practice that I have so much more to experience and learn and that when you think you “got it”, you don’t “got it”.
Do you have a favourite posture?
Each time I practice asana the postures feel completely different. They are always changing because my body is always changing. Each posture is intended to heal the body and improve self awareness. If I was to choose one posture it would be Savasana. It is the one posture where I connect with my entire body mind and soul. (and it makes me smile too :o)
What is one of your goals for the new year?
Goals are great as long as you don’t miss out on the journey. My goal is to enjoy the journey. As Baron Baptiste says, you are either “no where” or “now here”. To have the awareness of being in the moment rather than in my head and to make the choice to be “here now”.
